Founded in ’00, Music Notes Academy is an award-winning ’12 NJSBDC music school dedicated to comprehensive instruction for young children, adolescents, and adults. Students can attend classes in-person or online and learn music from our certified and degreed teachers. Student Rock Bands, String Quartets, group classes, concerts, and recitals are available. Music Notes Academy is a NJ-certified and approved SBE.

Meet Our Founder

Brandon Kurzawa, founder of Music Notes Academy, is an accomplished music educator with over 25 years of experience. In 2000, he established the academy to provide high-quality and comprehensive music instruction. He holds degrees in music and education.

As a percussionist, Mr. Kurzawa has performed extensively and has contributed to notable recordings. He has written articles for Tempo Magazine and published his “Learn Today, Play Tomorrow® Student Assignment Book” in 2015, which has enhanced the educational experience for students, teachers, and parents alike.

From 2016 to 2020, Brandon served as Festival Director and Producer for the Mid-Atlantic Music Teachers Guild’s annual 3-day Student Music Festival. In this role, he successfully managed all festival production aspects while creating valuable performance opportunities for student musicians, their teachers and music schools.

Mr. Kurzawa was an adjunct professor of audio engineering and music production at Gibbs College and taught at Rutgers University. His significant contributions to music education were recognized in 2012 when he received the Entrepreneur Success Award from the New Jersey Small Business Development Center.
